Pretty good article. Hunting where a older dominant gobble lives, can be rough. I've seen times when I knew gobblers were around that they wouldn't gobble hardly at all. Most of they came in acted like they had been eating super glue.

The old timers would build a blind and live in it. Make about 3 yelps every 15 minutes. Didn't matter if the gobbled or not. It still works just boring as heck.

Oh yeah. Quiet gobblers drive me nuts. If I see that they aren't gobbling, I'll usually set up somewhere where I know birds frequent, and call every 15 minutes or so. Sometimes it works.
