Sheep hunt of the south

Anyone have any luck last year targeting bear without dogs? I came across really fresh sign twice but never laid eyes on any. Really going for one again this year. Hopefully get one down early so I can focus on something more sane like these mountain bucks

Had them all over at my house and other places until acorns fell. Huge mast crop here this past year and the bears always disappear into the bear sanctuary here when that happens. They don't even come to the chocolate barrels of all the baiters much so you see a lower harvest on a huge mast year.

Acorns were absolutely raining last year so that makes sense. Hopefully be a little better this year with that. Do they target the berry patches much? I've heard someone have success wandering those. I guess once those white oaks start it's game over with anything else though
