Well, I went into the season not very excited. Call it getting older, just not motivated, seasonal blahs, whatever. But at times I just made myself go, hoping I'd get fired up at some point. I never got really fired up or had "the fever" I'd had during past seasons, but did settle into a period of contentment, where I just enjoyed being in the woods. And boy, what a season it turned out to be. I took 2 of my top 3 deer in Tennessee (in 10 years of living here), and was able to take a buck in Mississippi while hunting solo from my cabin there. I saw 68 deer total (29 bucks, 21 does, 10 unknowns) and if I never get to hunt again, I know I've been blessed. God is good!
