What brand scope do you like and why? :?:

Nikon. Ive tried several brands, several bushnells, 3-4 diffrent leupolds,burris simmons redfield and im sure a few others. But when its time to hit the woods my rifle is wearing nikon. Super clear, click adjustments, durable. Ive put a couple of there cheaper prostaffs thtew hell and they still hit where i wanted em. Get just as clear of glass as a leupold but save money. Ive got 2 prostaffs,2 buckmasters, a prostaff5 and a monarch so i guess i use all there models.

I have switched everything over to Vortex. The simplest reasoning is that it is the best bang for my buck. I have owned Zeiss, Leupold, Nikon, and Burris scopes and binos and for my money, the Vortex gives the better bang for the buck. Zeiss and the higher end Leupolds have great glass but are more expensive than my Vortex Diamondbacks and Vipers and the performance to money ratio is not big enough.

I did a twilight test with my Diamondback HP and my Zeiss HD 5 and yes, the Zeiss was brighter a little bit longer but for a $500 difference in price the difference was minimal. I also tested my Vortex Viper Binos against my buddy's Swaro's when we were in CO. Again, the Swaro is better glass for sure but my eyes are not good enough for me to buy $2500 binos when my $499 Vipers were as clear as I needed.

ANother contributing factor is the warranty and service. I had a horrible customer service experience on a pair of Zeiss COnquest HD binos earlier this year. I sold them to buy the Vipers.

I tried to use the Burris wattanty one time. It went over like a terd in the punch bowl. Basicaly I got told that they didn't make the model of binocular anymore that I had bought and would give me a discount on a new pair of Steiners if I wanted to buy them. That was the last time I have owned anything by Burris.

Exact reason I decided on Vortex. Have a new Diamondback HP 3x12 on a .270 and waiting for a Crossfire II 3x9 to arrive to mount on a .308. Friend dropped his Viper PST out of his truck and broke the glass. He was on a hunt out of town and needed his scope. They next day aired him one and asked for him to send the broken one back when he returned home. Can't beat that for customer service.

Kahles is many levels above most other scopes. If you can afford Kahles, the scopes (and binoculars) are some of the best glass on the planet. I run all the Kahles scopes I can afford.

Nikon and Vortex. The Vortex warranty is second to none although I have never had any trouble with my Viper. Great scope.

Best scope I've ever had is an old Nikon Monarch and it's a good one. For the money though, I'd probably go with either a Redfield or Vortex. Last scope I bought was a Redfield Revolution and I love it. From what I understand it's made in the Leupold factory and the warranty is just as good as Leupold. Folks say really good things about Vortex so obviously I'd consider them as well.

Leupold Mark4 is the best scope I've ever had. Like the old saying you get what you pay for. A bad scope can make a great gun useless but a great scope can make any gun better.

Burris did not stand behind their warranty for me. Leupold has always stood behind their products as far as I know, but I like Ziess a little more in low light.

My older weapons mostly sport Leupold. Most recent builds all have Zeiss glass as I've found them to be the best value.

I have had good luck with nikon pro staff and old buck master. Have a vortex viper on a rem tactical 308 not the clearest but works fore me. And a Zeiss Tera that is nice and clear. The new red field and vortex dimond back both look good in the stores I've looked at.

I have been really pleased with Federal Intensity scopes. They are the same scopes as Weaver 40/44 and the old Simmons Aetec. They are made in the Philippines. They were about a $250 scope. They are hard to find, but I can pick them up on ebay for around $70. They are 3-10×44. I really like the 44mm. They have been a great all around scope for me. I have 2 mounted on my deer rifles and 2 in my gun safe.

I'm becoming a vortex fan as well. I bought a strike eagle for my AR and I really like it all around. I have some very high end Zeiss and Leupold scopes but I'm not seeing enough difference for the money.

My rifles and muzzleloaders all sport Leupolds and I have no complaints at all.....but I recently bought a pair of Vortex Razor HD 10x42 binos that I am extremely impressed with. I am also very impressed with Vortex's customer service, I called them about getting an extra set of objective lens covers and eye-piece covers and they are sending them to me "free" (I tried to get some extras for some Nikon Monarch X binos sometime back and it was like I had asked them for their first child :bash: ) . Anyway, I will check out Vortex the next time I need a new scope.

On my T/C Bone Collector I have Leupold ultimate slam, on my Traditions Pursuit have Bushnell Dusk to Dawn, on my T/C slug gun have Nikon slug gun scope, on my 870 slug gun Burris droptine, on my T/C 35 Whelen have Nikon Buckmasters II, on my 35 Whelen 750 woodsmaster have the Burris Fullfield II, and on my CVA accura V2 LR Konus pro all seem to be good scopes.
