When it comes down to where the rubber meets the road...they ARE just kids right out of high-school or not far out of it anyways. They aren't professionals. I've shot tournaments on the national level since before I was a teen and still get jitters and nervous. There's no where near the atmosphere of 100,000 screaming fans and television shows, etc at archery tournaments. There's only so much a person can do to mentally block out things like that. They can simulate the noise in practice but that's nowhere near what the real thing is on game day. It would be interesting to see a comparison of what decibel reading Bristol is during the race compared to what Neyland stadium was Saturday.
