Running light/stern light

So my new boat they wired the running lights and stern light to a toggle switch and if you throw it up it turns on the bow running lights and if you throw it down it turns on the stern light. But isn't both the running lights and stern light be on at the same time???

The stern light is also used when anchored without the bow running lights in operation. When running, the stern light and the red and green side lights must be on.

Yep, when running they do.
Sounds like they didn't wire it right?

Mine flips one way for stern only, the other way for both. Doesn't sound like they wired it right.

Still haven't went back and checked it but hopefully I pulled a connection when I was adding my fish finder. They ran 10 ga so they had it packed with all the splicing for the switch. Seems abit much so may go to 14ga so I can fit a few more wires in that channel.
