with the upcoming buck limit reduction, i will no longer need a gun permit if i kill 2 bucks before gun season. or i may quit bow hunting. i want a refund on my recently purchased lifetime license.

Very interesting point. Now that I think about that, I too would like to see about a refund for my recent lifetime purchace. Sad when politics and the loud voice of the few envoke unwanted regulations on the many.

Like I said in an earlier post " squeaky wheel gets the grease deer management" in Tn. I think you guys have made a great point About the refund.

Its sad when the appethetic majority just assumes someone else is going to fight their battles for them and remain silent.

Just as long as we agree on the majority my point has been made. Thanks Mr. Breath. :tu:

I think a Unit L License holder should have to pay more for their License than a Unit A or B holder.

How do you know it was the majority?
I don't. I personally think the majority don't care if it's two or three. They just want to be able to get out in the woods and hunt deer a few days a year. I am starting to believe that there are more people that are more passionate about reducing the limit than there are people wanting it to stay the same. Myself, I really don't care. I do 90-100% of my deer hunting out of state or on WMA's that are more restrictive than statewide seasons. Deer just seem to act more like what I think deer should act like when there are more bucks around.

I can honestly see someone deserving to get a refund on their lifetime license...IF... they just bought it and have no deer hunting season behind them under that license. Aside from that there's always the possibility rules and regulations could change anytime down the road. The license was a contract from the state of Tn that allows the holder the right to hunt under current management laws without further purchasing any other license and not limited to what those laws or regulations were at the time that license was purchased. However, if the hunter was under the pretense of the "status quo" limits and they changed before he could make use of that license...?

It would be negligence on the part of such hunter to think the limits or regulations were never going to be changed. Who knows what changes may take place on a variety of species during the lifetime of some of our younger Lifetime license holders. Heck, we might be back to 11 bucks at some point in time. There is no way to predict the future.

This whole post is just crying from the 3 buck crowd. I could care less if the buck limit is 1 or 20. If its 1 I will make sure I kill the one I want to put my tag on. If its 20 I might kill an extra buck or two but not likely. I do wish they would lower the doe limit here though. I believe the chart had Lewis Co. with a 75-80% buck harvest! The does have been pounded in to the ground here!

That would only be fair.
Would love to see it happen.

I would expect more pounding.
Us hunters with limited opportunities are going to be searching for more deer in the late season [emoji4]

I don't have a lifetime license thank goodness but Twra won't get another dime from me and my faimly. We will just hunt our own land.

I don't know how we remained silent? I have to work, I can't go to a meeting with the TWRA. HOWEVER I wrote several e-mails.... guess they don't count as much or have the same effect as someone showing up in person.....

I didn't see a Biological reason for the change according to harvest data and population numbers.

It really doesn't affect me either way, I usually only kill one.

What does aggravate me is the commission making the decision because a particular group pressured them to do so. Antler management should never take the place of herd management. JMO.

i was being facetious but had the limit been 2 at the time, i wouldn't have bought it.

You bought a lifetime license solely because you could kill 3 bucks?

solely? no but to cover all 3 seasons. with a 2 buck limit, i may not need a gun license or may quit bowhunting completely.

stik, you seriously ought to call the TWRA office tomorrow and see what they say. People get sued over similar circumstances and win most of the time.

People also get counter sued for frivolous lawsuits and lose as well.

Yep as crooked as lawyers and politicians are today you'd probably have no trouble winning.

That's a valid point. Maybe someday we'll be charged per deer. That'll save some.

Wow! I thought the hunting license was for the whole state, not by unit. Guess you learn something everyday. :poke:

Hey Stik, with the wma's being bonus deer you can still kill around 5 or 6 bucks in east tn. and if you are like me, wma's and other public land is all I have to hunt and I average 3 to 4 deer a year here in Monroe county. If you ask a private land owner to hunt they look at you like they could kill you so the buck limit don't matter to me, I hunt public land
