I followed up with U.S. Fish and Wildlife this morning and found out that TWRA's Watchable Wildlife page is wrong about the Muscovy Duck, Cairina moschata, it is protected by 50CFR10.13http://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-id...8010c6951&mc=true&node=se50.1.10_113&rgn=div8 and must be taken within the federal limits and rules for waterfowl hunting as well as state seasons. I didn't write down the name of the agent I spoke with but he was hesitant to give a definite answer on the Muted Swan or Chinese Goose either other than warning not to confuse any of the protected species for the Chinese Goose.
