I posted some pics of this guy last year. I thought he was mature then? Well, looks like he has made it through another season so far. What do you all think for age? Looks like his rack is going down a little?

easy 5.5 and wouldnt surprise me if he was 6.5...... look at that nose and brisket

How does one age by the nose?

The older a buck gets the large arch in the nose area appears and gets thicker versus the skinny long face of a younger deer. One reason people dont know that is because they never see many deer/bucks older than 2.5.....which dont have it. :)

Are those bumps along his back his backbone? He sure isn't skinny though but some animals do show that characteristic when they get older. That and the general size of his body make me say he has to be 4.5 at the least. I'd say there is a very good chance he's older than 4.5.

You won't really know until you have a jaw bone in hand. The piebald anomaly affects more than coat color, and from the looks of that buck, he is showing some of those other traits. His body does not appear to conform to the shape of a normal deer, making it very difficult to use body conformation for age.
