The biggest thing I've learned, and not many sites mention, is that only female trees bear fruit. That would have been nice to know before I planted two trees.

Yes only females make fruit and they are usually 50/50. Mossy oak nursery recommends planting 10 to have a huntable amount.

You can always graft limbs off a producer into a non producer. You'll have 2 different sets of genetics so they should cross pollinate well too.

Smo is right. The ones that you find in coyot and coin crap are the best because of the process of getting processed lol
