Well I made my first 4 sets ever a few minutes ago.
Got off work early today so I went and bought 2 Duke #3 traps and 2 dogproof coon traps.
Got some chain, quick links, coyote urine and cotton balls. :D

Came home and fired up the propane burner.
Boiled them then waxed them and headed out.

I wish I had carried fresh, dry dirt with me.
I meant to buy a bag of topsoil but forgot it.

Put one of them at the end of a "ditch" that comes from behind a retention levee and the other on the edge of a woods behind a log.

Put the two coon traps on the edge of another ditch that is covered in coon tracks.
We will see.
I am curious as to the coyote sets, that is what I really want to catch.
Gonna order me some more traps and other supplies tonight.

Anxiously awaiting the results. I'm not a trapper, but I like to see others succeed in the things they try.

I'm looking forward to seeing what I get in the morning.
I'm not sure what time you plan on running your traps but if it was me I would wait till at least noon. This cold weather will have them moving most of the morning

Thanks, I will wait.
The biggest thing that worries me is that I had to use too much wet dirt to cover the trap and I am scared it will be all frozen and keep the trap from working, if something does hit it.

Sure do want to go look now. :D
