I recently came across a Marlin Model 3040 30-30 lever action. I don't know much about them. I know I have read some are highly sought after, talked to a buddy and took a chance on it. It has a JM stamp, also says made by JC Penny. I assumed this probably hurts the value? It has a pretty cool engraving on the stock of kinda a buck and scenerie though so thought that was pretty cool. And it has a gold trigger, sure it's not gold, just best way to describe it. I traded a smith and wesson shield 9mm for the gun. I'd like to find out year, where it was made, value etc. I'm keeping the rifle anyways but cool to know the history of the rifle. Thanks!
