New hunter, first deer

Was blessed to take a young man from church on his first hunt yesterday. He's 12. Been through a lot. His brother was killed 2 years ago in a car wreck at 15. He was going fishing with a family friend and lost control of the truck.
Shortly after his father came to our church seeking help with the struggles of the situation. He ended up giving his life to the lord shortly afterwards, then his wife, then his other son, Jackson.

Yesterday was the first time he's allowed one of his kids to be in a vehicle with someone else other than his wife or him. But he had to work and prayed and trusted in the lord things was gonna be ok.


At 515 a doe stepped out and Jackson made a perfect double lung shot. She ran all of 40 yards. It was such a blessing to spend the evening with this young man then help clean the deer with his dad and him. Lots of tears and joy. They even fried some blackstrap last night !!

We are hoping to be able to take his father this weekend. This made me 6 for 6 on taking youth hunting and them killing their first deer on their fist hunt. Same stand for all. God is good.
