I just got a new to me boat and I am having some electrical problems anyone out there skilled at something such as this?

Skee-Bob, my last bass boat I had electrical problems the entire time I owned it. Took it everywhere to get looked at...never did figure it out. Good luck, it can be frustrating can't it.

If the guage is backlit try taking the wire loose that supplies power to the backlight. It may be connected to the wrong wire on the back of the guage.

the funny thing is i work on multi million dollar equiptement fixing instruments and electronics yet this thing has me bumfuzzled

where all the connectors meet behind the switch pannel was corroded so a little dontact cleaner and some di-electric gel and good to go
