Everyone probably does it different, but I decided to make a new batch of compost this weekend.

Put ground up leaves in a compost bin.

Add veggie scraps that have been collected all winter in a 35-gallon plastic can.

Add one truckful of horse manure.

Cover with black plastic.

Let cook for two months in the compost bin on a southern slope of the back yard.

In two months, I will have black gold to put on my raised beds. :)

I'll make layers of, grass, leaves, veggie scraps, straw & horse manure. Always green then brown material in the layers. Keep it moist, not wet. Turn it every 3 to 4 days
