Excellent memories and nice first buck — a lot like my daughter's first one. She killed a doe whe she was 10. She went with me a number of times the next year and several times had 8 pts in front of us, other times does. But she would shake so bad and she never pulled the trigger. I learned she was flinching at the sound of the shot so had her start wearing ear muffs. And got her out shooting a 22 on target a lot. She got her first buck the following year and has been hunting with me for the past 2 decades now.
Its my sixth deer and my personal best so far sorry for the confusion but this is the confused kid and thanks guys for all the support

Wow, congratulations to you both. That hunt will be hard to top. It's probably best that his biggest deer ever isn't his first. Once everyone tells him he'll never kill a bigger buck, he might quit hunting.
I'm sure y'all will be back after that bigger buck soon enough. Good luck!
