When is the best time to start making mock scrapes?

Made one friday in front of my cam where there are 5 huge trees rubbed all around. hopefully pics will produce something.

When is the best time to start making mock scrapes?

As soon as the first real scrapes start appearing.

I began finding ridge-line and field-edge scrapes in late September, and I've been making mock scrapes successfully since then ("successfully" in that they are drawing bucks to them).

I didn't get a chance to pull my card this weekend but my camera sets over a scrape I made 2 weeks ago and I'd bet a dollar against a nickle I already have buks on camera in that scrape.

Bucks still aren't going crazy over scrapes yet (some bucks will be photographed just walking on by), but my mock and real scrapes are getting pretty frequent usage.
