Juvenile hunt/ lifetime licence

I have 2 sons (6 & 10yr old). Both of my sons have their lifetime hunting licence and are wanting to go turkey hunting.

1. Do they have to have a hunter safety certificate?

2. What age are kids required to have their hunters saftey certificate?

Once a hunter reaches the age of 10, they are required to have hunter safety certification unless they are hunting where they would qualify for the landowner exemption. You can purchase an Apprentice License for a one year exemption from those requirements. The AL requires that an adult 2 or older who meets the hunter education requirements is ALWAYS in position to take control of the weapon from the AL license holder.

Until they are 10 yrs old, it requires the same thing as the Apprentice License for a certified adult to ALWAYS be in position to take control of their weapon.
