I normally get down a few minutes early when I am in my climber. I text. My wife and told her I was climbing down. Tied my bow and started lowering it down when I heard a snap. He stopped where I couldn't get a shot. And then took two more steps. I heard the thump and thought I hit him. Waited 30 min and climbed down. Couldn't find any blood or the arrow. Searched right there and decided to go back this morning. My son and I were out there at daylight. Searched for an hour and couldn't find anything. My boy (16) found a trail of kicked up leaves and followed it. About 200 yards from where I shot he found him. He fell and rolls down a ravine. The shot went in decent but did not pass through. We circled around him and only found blood about 10 yards where he fell. Found the broad head and about an inch of arrow. I caught a little of the shoulder. He is a beast. It took everything we had to get him on the 4wheeler.

Lady at the processor says she has never seen a deer that big. They don't have scales though. She was taking pictures. I will regret not having it weighed forever. Better shot of the body.
