Shot a doe this morning at about 45 yards. She bolted like she was hit. I climbed down and went to the spot where I shot her. Found blood, bone and could not find anything. nd hair. We followed the blood trail for a long way and then it dried up. Found two spots where she lad down and bled alot. We walked the property for near 2 hours any sign of the her. The property we hunt on borders Long Hunter State Park so there is no telling where the deer went. This is my 5 season hunting and would have been my 1st kill. Guess I will just have to keep trying.

Sounds like you pushed her too hard. If it was a fatal shot she might have died after she bed down the first time if you waited longer. But it happens, maybe you can go look for her again tomorrow and find it. Good Luck.

Like Trealtree said, if you can leave for a few hours and let the deer lay down. I know its tough to do but, sometimes thats what you have to do. Trailing dogs are great too.
