Horses on WMA

I'm not sure about legality but I see them ALL the time on my local WMAs. It's not that bad. I'll usually ask them if they've seen any deer and a lot of times they have and will let me know. Since the horses ride right by it doesn't seem to spook them much.

It looks like it depends on want WMA your hunting, South Cherokee you can ride horses on roads and trail marked for them, according to the hunting guide at Catoosa the guide says only participating hunters allowed on the area.

Page 38 of 2023-2024 hunting guide. WMA's, General hunting regulations:

"Horses permitted on roads and trails open to motorized traffic and other trails or routes established for their use, except as otherwise indicated. Riding off roads into fields, woods or on foot trails is prohibited unless otherwise provided."
