Herb Parsons Lake closed

HERB PARSONS TWRA STATE LAKE CLOSED
FAYETTE COUNTY --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will close Herb Parsons Lake until further notice. The closure is due to storm damage from straight-line winds on June 25, 2023.
A storm with 70 mph straight-line winds significantly damaged the lake area. The area has broken utility poles, downed electrical lines, several downed trees, and structural damage to a building. Due to the dangerous environment with leaning trees and downed electrical lines throughout the property, Herb Parsons will be closed to visitation.

Shelby Forest is also closed for the same reason. This storm was BAD.

I didn't know Herb Parsons was a Bill Dance signature lake. Of course, I don't know what that means.

whatever happened to the plans to build a new giant lake in Hardeman county???

I live on Fisherville Road about .5 miles from Herb. Our neighborhood was destroyed. We spent most of evening cutting logs out of the street. There are approximately 10'ish fallen trees over the drive to the lake.
