With this long spell of hot and dry weather and decrease in food sources for the deer. I'm tempted to take a few more deer than I usually do. I always harvest enough to feed my family and give a few steaks away, but I'm tempted to take a few extra. I think this drought will make for a difficult winter for the deer. Thinning the herd might be benificial. Am I right on that, or am I just looking for an excuse to shoot a few extra?

What deerchaser007 said.

As long as this EHD outbreak doesn't get any worse in my area (only a few dead deer found), I plan on hammering the does this year. I'm going to pick out a handfull of "hit list" bucks, but the majority of my hunting will be focused on does.
