Got permission to dig.

There's a friend of mine who has property nearby where there's been a lot of artifacts found. He's letting me come over and dig next week.
Several people have already been thru the area as you can see from the pics.
Where is the best place to concentrate my digging?
There's an overhang that I noticed but I'm not certain about where everyone else has already dug.

Be careful and wear a respirator. My buddy about died from the spores he inhaled while digging out a shelter/overhang without one.

After a rain area the soil will percolate. You may very well find stuff in areas that have been dug.

He says it was from a mixture of mold and something from bats. I dunno if it was from their poop or what. He was digging and using a sift screen, and it put him in bad shape for a while.

Yeah, I didn't even think about bats.

That's histoplasmosis. Mulch dust, bird or bat guano dust causes it.

That's been years ago and he still has complications from it. He says ever since then, it made it really easy for him to get phenomena too. He doesn't dig shelters or cave explore any more because of it.
