DEER REPELLANT

So i overslept this morning and was woke by my buddy was mad because i wasn't there with the four wheeler. I jumped up, got dressed and arrived an hour late to the stand. So sitting there i thought i would see if i could work the grunt call and estrus can.
So i start grunting, working the can while moving back and forth. Kinda like a one man band twenty foot up in the tree. I do this three times with thirty minutes in between. Then i hear a snap, turn around slowly and your guessed it squirrel. Wanting to yell at this devil tree rat for getting my hopes up i turned around and this guy was walking in at thirty yards.
I raised my crossbow and let the nap fly and was excited to see it make the shot i was going for at twenty yards. Now at this time i am not trying to fall out of my tree and trying to watch it run while the leaves are falling out of the tree because i am shaking so bad. Then i see it hit the ground and the fist pumping commenced.
I thought it was a six pointer but it wound up being an eight. My buddy told me he thinks its a 2-2.5 year deer. I am glad i got to take my first with a bow.
So far this year i have gotten three does and him. Also his neck was swollen and was in need of a bath, shew :grin:
