Worse than ticks, are chiggers.
Made the mistake of going into the woods to put up cameras, no permethrin, had 80 chigger bites when I showered. No ticks.
Next trip, knee high boots, legs taped, permethrin soaked clothes, NO chigger bites.
Lesson learned.

Tuck ur shirt and permethrin soaked clothes, tuck ur jeans into boots, spray deet around ankles, wrists, neck, and waist line is what I do along with taking a shower immediately after as soon as i can and scrub with soap all over. I know it helps lessen poison ivy and chiggers and if i have a tick i find it faster.

Best recipe for chiggers is rub Vicks Vapor Rub on them. It really does work. Keeps the itching at bay for about 8 hours and clears the suckered up in 3 or 4 days.

Had permethrin on my boots but walked through some shoulder high stuff. Should of known better!!

Nasty critters. Both the wife and I had Lyme's disease. Took 6 months of heavy antibiotics to clear it up. I have an aunt who is dying of it. She was diagnosed to late.
