I have used two different kinds. One, nothing get through. Other, porus. The porus kind sprouts weeds that grow sideways under the plastic and becoming surprisingly healthy. The solid kind keeps everything out except heat. You have to keep a sharp eye on your crop because the heat can get very bad. I used subteranean watering and sometimes it could not keep up. I found having a dirt aisle was helpful in keeping temps manageable.

As for source It'll be from china.

This place sells everything pretty cheap. quality must be low but then again, labor is not an issue in C-town. Go to the lawn and garden selection

Here--30 feet long 9 bucks

You ever had any trouble with that plastic being to hot on the roots. Or causing mold to grow around the base of the plants. ?
I haven't. Saw a video on youtube, Living Traditions Homestead, where he answered the temperature question. He measured the temp in open ground at 82 degrees and under the ground cover was 81.5 degrees. As far as mold it's never been an issue for us.
