I've worn LaCrosse Atlas the last two years and have been very please, add snake gators during warmer weather, timber rattlers and copperheads can be abundant in certain spots in middle Tn. I stepped on a timber rattler 3 years ago in high grass on the edge of a field. Deion Sanders had nothing on me, I high stepped it about 10yards into the field.

Switched over to Merrel gortex hiking boots and gaiters about 3 years ago and won't ever go back to rubber or heavy hunting boots. Granted snakes are not an issue where I generally hunt.

a good leather boot and gaiters are hard to beat.
