DR's Meat Rub

2 tbsp kosher salt
2 tbsp fresh ground black papper
2 tbsp cumin
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp dried basil
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 cup smoked paprika
Zest of one lemon

Mix all together then just rub into meat real well. I typically do this at least 6-hrs before cooking. Good on beef and pork - even good on chicken chest!

Will keep a long time in a plastic container in fridge, longer in freezer.
