For a pure clover stand about 8 lbs/acre should do the job.

Pure stand is recommended at 20 lbs/acre.In my mixture I use 7 lbs/acre crimson clover, 20 lbs oats, 20 lbs cereal rye, 3 lbs brassica mixture.

A great soil builder. I ran corn behind some this yr., and its the best I have ever had. However, red is cheaper, if considering the amount it takes per acre.

UT extension recommends 25# pure live seed per acre. Most clover seed comes with a seed coat, so you may end up needing closer to 40# bulk seed/acre to get a full seeding rate. I like crimson clover because it seeds out and dies in the summer, so I don't have to worry about drought. I have had stands that reseeded themselves 5 for 5 years after the initial planting.
