Always wanted to canoe in and harvest a deer. Today was the day. Nice cool calm morning to paddle in the dark. The paddle in was right at a mile. Doesn't sound like much but it takes time and can be nerve racking when you are trying to beat legal light. Would rather it been a big buck but I'm tagged out for the year. So a doe will do the trick. This year has been great and I've been blessed with some great opportunities. So #7 gets the boat ride. Took out a fawn and turkey killer this morning as well.
God is great all the time.

Very cool…congrats!

Do you have lights on the canoe so you don't get run over? Maybe you're only in water where most can't run. Just curious.
This is a legit concern for sure that does weigh on me. No lights on canoe. However, the few times that I have done this under darkness I make sure it is somewhere I can hang tight to bank. No big river crossing. I do stay alert for boats just in case and have yet to even see or hear a single one while paddling at dark.
