Anyone still defending Butch after that? If so, I really hope you aren't raising children. We have enough brain dead losers on the welfare roles as it is.

Pathetic excuse for coaching. Mcelwain should immediately lose his job if he ever loses to a Butch coached team again.

Butch has to go. He has demonstrated time and again that he's in way over his head...today was another display. Coaching lost that game.

To be honest, neither team look good. Georgia has to be booking Atlanta tickets already.

I'll be surprised if anything happens. Too much of the Tennessee fan base is content with mediocre coaching. Butch is a good recruiter and I'm sure he's a good guy, but he sucks as a game-day coach.

Why didn't he have 3 rushing and everyone else back. Everybody knew what was coming.

I don't know, bad coaching I guess.

My 10 yr old daughter knew what was coming. You don't let a wr get behind you. Line a 3rd safety up 25-30 yards off the ball to protect endzone.

Butch has proven so many times the last 5 years that he doesn't know what to do in gametime situations. The first few years it was obvious but I thought; he's recruiting good and if he is learning on the job while we are building then fine. Problem is he hasn't done any learning and it's evident he's in way over his head.

The meltdown of the losing fan base is becoming more entertaining than the actual football games..... :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

Because they tried that on the 4 and 14 play two years ago and lost on a hitch route to Callaway.

The real question is why did Justin Martin completely stop on the route and leave Abernathy with it?

Martin has made exactly one play all year and that was punching that ball out on the one UF TD run. Other than that, the guy has been horrible, yet he continues to get the start. Who is making that call? Butch is.

Just got off the phone with Currie and told him the fan base was upset. He said no problem. Gruden will be here in the morning to start his new job. Man, that was easy.

Les Miles was seem on campus tonight. :stir: :D

Oh really? Well maybe when Gruden gets here in the morning, Currie is going to have a grass eating contest between him and Les for the job. In that case, Les got this.

The actual play was suppose to be across the middle of the field and gain 6-7 yards call a TO and let Eddie try his longest FG yet in a game. They got pressure and pushed FF out and well.... the rest is history.

This is on Shoop. How do you not drop 4 deep, one or two being WRs. Like someone said rush 3.

I bet Shoop is gone. Brady's a step closer. One Michigander replaced by another. Eventually.

Man, Vols fans. I'm serious. No joking. This is a heartbreaker. Rivalry game and this happens after battling back. I feel bad for the kicker. Butch might be gone after the season, but I think Shoop will be sacrificed.

60+ yd bomb. Franks got an arm.

Defense didn't play as bad as expected and ultimately play is a refelection of leadership. Last I checked butch is the leader

Kicker(S). Cimaglia missed 2 and then Medley missed one.

Always was said about him... guess he had to prove it to the staff.

I think the difference between this ending and last years Vols Georgia game ending was the Surgical precision of that throw VS just throwing it up in the air and someone getting lucky and coming up with it .

Surgical precision? He just threw it as far as he could because they was the only option he had. What they wanted to do was covered and he was flushed out of the pocket. Florida was setting up for the field goal.

Very poor coaching by butch and staff. I mean UT was on the 1 yard line and you throw the football? What the heck why not just keep it simple and hand it to Kelly up the middle or even do a QB sneak? Defense looked better until that last play. Martin and Abernathy let the wide out blow by them!! Why in the heck were we in cover 2 anyways? Speaking of the last play did anyone see that offensive lineman holding Kongbo? Should have been a flag thrown because had he not held Kongbo gets a sack and we go to overtime. I've been one to defend Jones the past few years but this game did it for me. That game shouldn't have been close. Very poor coaching.
