Boat trl tags for out of state ?

I was wondering if you can register & get a tag for a boat trl or if 1 is needed in boarding states, thinking about a short trip south & don't need a ticket ,thanks

I have never had a problem taking my boat to the gulf coast, passing through Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. I don't have tags because we don't require them.

That is more of a question for the Dept. of Safety than TWRA as we have nothing to do with the trailers.
