Have any of you ever used them? Im thinking about a plot this fall. I know deer mow em down as soon as they come up, was thinking about mixing beans with them to help take off the early pressure this fall. Will they survive light frost? Tks

I generally plant some every year. If the deer dont devour them they will survive all winter here, hence the winter in the name. Never tried protecting them but I dont have alot of deer, I can grow 1/2 acre soybean plots with no fence so keep in my mind that my situation is likely very different from yours in terms of deer devouring them.
They are great just plant alot. I never can get them over lip high.
whens the best time for planting in west Tn?
End august or september.
