Picked up a Tristar over and under shotgun with the intent to use for Turkey hunting assuming I actually go LOL. The gun has a rib on top but its not dove tailed. I know some one on here added a red dot to their over and under. So my question is how they went about it. My assumption is the rib was drilled and tapped.

Check out Meadow Creek Mounts. That's what I used on my Tri-Star….no drilling or tapping.

I looked at clamp on mounts similar to the one posted above, but decided to go with a drill/tap mount from SumToy to get the sight closer to me. Either option works very well, just depends on your location preference.

I did similar on a 410 O/U. Used a Sumtoy mount and had a local gunsmith drill and tap the rib. Worked great!

I actually picked up a vortex viper red dot at a decent price so thats will be my optic. I was concerned with the distance so I need to check that out too. Thanks for the replies

What is the model of the Sumtoy mount?
I'm not sure what it's called other than a rib mount. I called him and told him what I was looking for. He had me measure the width of the rib and he sent it out.
