Last night I had a feeling my public land spot would pay off. Sure enough It did!

At 7:45 I heard something running towards me, thought it was a squirrel but to my suprise a fawn ran right under my stand. Another followed, then came the mom. She stopped 15 yards away behind a tree so I stood up and drew my bow. I let her take two steps and pulled the trigger. The shot was perfect and the sound of the arrow passing through was unforgettable. She only went 20yrds and collapsed. The fawns stayed but I'm not in a big need for meat so I letem go.

She is definately the oldest doe I've shot.. almost looked like caring for the two spots was too much for her.

First time I shot at a deer with a bow and everything went perfect!

Good for you MC. Now here is a tip. A relatively sharp knife, applied to the deer's tongue, will give you a picture you can show to even pretty women folk.

And...might want to zip your pants, too. :)
