It's been a notable sweetcorn season and still right'much left to pick (whatever the critters don't get).

It is amazing how tasty corn is when it just picked. Still good later but the sugars start converting to starches as soon as it is picked so it loses a little sweetness over time. I could grow some where I previously lived but don't have the place for it now.

Coons will climb up the stocks and break them over . Beaver will haul them off back to the water and you will think someone is in there cutting it off.

Nice haul. Had issues with coons this year in our corn, even with electric fence around the garden and the dog in the yard. Dog couldn't get to them though, they came through from the other side through our pasture. We hadn't had issues with them since I had been running wire around the garden, until this year. They wanted that sweet corn bad.
