35 REM ammo

J firearms has a couple of old boxes that I dropped off the other day

Yeah, it's really ridiculous. I do love my Marlin 336 in 35 Rem but for the ammo issue, last year I bought an 18" barrel Ruger American Predator in 308 win as another option to have for the woods. It's exactly the same handy length gun but even a little lighter. Still not exactly ambidextrous like a lever action, though.

Those guys are great! I lived in Portland and they were the go to store for real sports…… not LL BEAN

I really like that store. Especially the full body mount bull moose when you walk in.

Just be advised that those are pointed (spritzer) bullets, so not safe in a tubular magazine.

Would be ok for one in the chamber and one in the magazine. With my 35, one shot is the norm. Better than a handi-rifle.

$70 dollars a box. Holy Shiite. Some people are sitting on a gold mine who bought hundreds of rounds years ago for $18 a box...

No kidding, glad I reload..... My cost is nothing compared to that.

Yes, of course, you're good as long as you don't have a hard pointed bullet resting against a primer. I just try to make my gun as foolproof as possible. What I don't understand, though, is why Winchester started making these 35 Rem with pointed bullets instead of trying to satisfy the lever action market first.

Yes, the round nose are absolutely fine. All I'd seen that was available was the pointed power points that Natchez SS had.
