Was fortunate to be asked back out to Dead Zero Shooting Range by a good friend and his wife yesterday. Took the WinMag and some handloads that I had worked up with the 220 Nosler Custom Competition bullets over 68.5 gr of RL22. After a couple of over MOA groups at 600 yds, I regrouped, so to speak, and settled down, adjusted the parallax better, and tightened up to shoot a better group finally. Not as good as I had hoped, since I had the great .270" group at 100 yds, but did manage to get a 3.68" 3 shot group at 600 yds, .585 MOA if my calculations are correct. I've got to get a better more stable shooting platform under me I believe, more bags likely. I had to raise my rear bag up to level with a couple of factory ammo boxes, and that made for a less than adequate rest. The 800 yd electronic targets were offline so I found my dial up at 800 by shooting the steel targets. 12 MOA dial up at 600 and 19 MOA dial up at 800. Then, at the nudging from the rangemaster, I shot the small 8" round disc at the 800 yd distance, 1 hit out of 2 shots, close but no cigar on the miss. All in all a good learning experience for sure. Also, heard a funny new catch phrase from one of the shooters that was dialing in his rig. "That's minute of looter all day long". :)

Great shooting Mup. I didn't realize the shotmarker system would calculate group size or MOA. That's pretty cool. I can use them now at my range for practice as well as the matches. Those systems have been a game changer for sure.

Are you having to single feed those rounds due to length, starting to work loads up for a 700 Police 300 win mag and I would like to stay Saami spec, but that looks like it may be hard to do and get near that lands with heavier bullets, minus a RN. New to the 300 wm and the 3.34 max col is killing me . LOL

I have Hornady 180 IL's/ shooting .60 moa set at 3.34, but I think she will do much better.

I'm feeding these single, but I've also pushed them down into the magwell and they do fit, but just barely. The main reason I'm feeding them singly is to keep from pushing the bullets back into the case that are in the mag. If I hunt with it it'll likely be a single shot rifle. :)

My Browning A-Bolt 300 Winmag is a two-shot rifle.

I wanted a 400 yard rifle---an elk at 400 yards rifle---so I spent some time and ammo getting the perfect 3000 FPS 180 grain Partition load.

First elk I killed with at about 125 yards IIRC left an exit hole so big you could see wyoming (I was in Craig CO).

Killed about ten mule deer, 3 elk cow and 1 5x5 bull and none went further than 20 yards.

Max load of IMR7828 Fed215M's.
