Have any of you heard anything about a buck taken in Ohio that supposedly scored around 300 inches? If it's true that's probably going to be the biggest buck taken in America this year.

If you killed it would you be willing to sell it?

Guy from my hometown in Indiana killed one that was over 300" back in 2012 - Cabela's offered him some ridiculous amount of money for it and even threw in a replica mount so he would have something for his wall still. I'm wanting to say it was close to six figures what he got, plus every company known to man was sending him free stuff to get product plugs.
I typically think the same thing. But, this was a free range deer. He had ODNR assist in the recovery. He knew he had something special when he shot it.DaveB":ui07tf9c said:There are several high fence deer farms in Ohio and Pennsylvania that grow absolutely monstrous non-typical-rack deer. The price is unreal-15 grand I think and this was several years back.
Any time I see one of these monster non-typicals I can't help but think it escaped from one of those places.

You're right, but the farm this buck was killed on is miles, and miles, and miles from the nearest deer farm.chebuck":24ialrnn said:Buzzard Breath":24ialrnn said:I typically think the same thing. Still could have been a high fence deer that got out. Some of the real big places don't have ear tags or anything. Could have gotten out and travelled several miles away.

In that state it wouldnt surprise me if it didnt.Good time Charlie":2zg5whku said:Is it a record of some sort? A deer that big has to set some kind of record.

Good thing he was already on a team. It would really suck to shoot a buck like that and not be able to support my posse. (Insert sarcastic smiley here)
