This thread is to keep a running update on the antlers falling off in the state. County, date of any finds or trail cams pics of shed or unshed bucks in the area are all beneficial in timing antler drop. As of now no evidence in my area of antler dropping.

Portland, TN (Sumner County) no bucks have dropped yet that we know of. Friend in Bardstown, KY found 2 fresh ones today. Her dad was in the area a day or two before and they weren't there.

Not in TN - just a FYI.

This was a 5 point "Shed Head" that I picked up walking the Jefferson County, TN woods yesterday.

But I guess "Shed Heads" really don't count. :) Cool find for me though.

I saw a bachelor group of younger bucks in a field very near downtown Franklin last Friday. All had antlers on both sides of their heads.

Do you hunt sheds on Fort Campbell? I think I am going to give it a try.

Your thoughts?

Wayne

Not sure they allow shed hunting on post, might want to double check.

They allow you find a pair of naturally shed antlers per day. I have spoken to them after I was told by an individual they updated rules in Sept 2017.

I had checked in the May of 2017 and was told no. I spent 10 minutes on the phone and got all of questions answered.

Got a pdf of the updated rules first and then double checked with a call to the base personnel in charge of the program.

Catman and I got out for a couple hours today, ended up with 4 from last year and one fresh one from this year. He found every single one of them, I was just there for moral support haha.

No Wayne I've never been out there. I actually thought you couldn't shed hunt there honestly until reading you're updated post. I might do it for some scouting time for turkeys an deer.

Checked a few cameras today 17-18 different bucks all holding both sides still. It's still way early but I'm eager to start covering ground!
