A few things have been good this past years hunting trips, however the bad outweighed the good.

First thing, a jerkwad ex hunting neighbor bad mouthed my wife's first deer because it was a 4pt and critized everything about it to her face. then the same guy told our properties owner to only allow bucks to be shot "he deemed trophies" and stole my new summit viper climbing stand I had chained to a tree.

Second, the same guy leased out our property just so he could kick us off so he could have all the deer to himself. The farm was where my dad had taught me how to hunt since the early 90's and I had hoped to do the same for my wife and daughter but can't now because of that prick.

Third, I have a 21 acre farm to hunt and I had shared with another guy. I did all the scouting and we had agreed on no young bucks and only mature does. I told him where to put a stand and he killed 7 deer out of it. Two 1.5yr old bucks with potential, 3 1.5yr old does and 2 spotted fawns. He told me all deer need to die. I'm currently working on getting him kicked off the place.

I'm not the only one with problems this past years hunting but it is one to forget that's for sure.

Go to the General forum and read about the military families planning funerals for Christmas and see if your "problems" stack up.

At least you are getting to hunt instead of having your azz shot at in Afganistan.

I don't think he was looking for someone to try to lay a guilt trip on him, he just wanted to vent a little

I wasn't trying to lay a guilt trip on anybody. Sometimes it helps to have a little perspective about what really is a problem.

After reading some of the military stuff today, his "vent" just struck a raw note with me.

I'll be the first to admit, often we take this whole "deer hunting thing" WAY too seriously.

I'm just glad nothing was said about Phil and DD...the general forum has way too many people who would prefer to gripe about crap and talk religion and politics and anything other than hunting.

I shared a property with a guy who was a complete butt. I heard the owner complain, who was a client of mine, and said I can solve the problem of getting him off the property by allowing me to lease it. So for a dollar, I got the sole use of the property and the owner got an idiot off his land who he made the mistake of allowing him to hunt it...but didn't know how to get him off of it. Sorry you lost your hunting spot.

Sounds like you need to find a nice family lease for you to share your hunting experiences with.Good Luck

no, that is a quick fix that never ends well. you need to find a parcel to buy. sell your fancy truck (if you have one) give up fancy internet or cable and buy 40-60 acres of rough rural land and you will never be the victim again

I'm not here to argue and I recognize the torture the armed forces have to deal with each day. I also will say they are tougher people then I could ever be.

I don't have the best equipment or money to get them. I'm a young hard working married man with a family that I'm trying to introduce into the outdoors in positive ways. Which again, I know I'm not the only one.

With that being said if anyone knows of a good and relatively inexpensive lease in middle TN to hunt deer, turkey, dove, yotes or anything for that matter PM me... it'd be really appreciated.
