Well I ended up with a little bit to get him started.
The big bobbers are an inside joke

Rattling football jigs. Everyone else covered about everything else. I am a huge fan of Rapala DT series crank baits and have excellent success using them. As someone else stated, whopper ploppers are awesome along with booyah pad crusher frogs.

I used mostly crankbaits when I used to fish. I was fishing crankbaits when crankbaits wasn't cool. They may not be cool now cause I haven't fished seriously in about 5-6 years, Im not up to date on what's cool. The rapala dt series was the finest. I used mostly dt20 and dt16 but those are for hardcore anglers with some arm strength stamina. The dt6 is a fish catching machine for a crankbait newby.

Back to what's cool in fishing: flat bill caps, stickers all over everything you have, wraps, dressed like a skateboarder while fishing and basically keeping up with the Jones when it comes to equipment and a boat. Oh yeah, will need an $80k truck to pull the $80k boat. 😂 It's all in what you want to do.

It's an addiction really...
It really is. Maybe worse than crack. Will definitely spend more money on it than crack. It will make alot of people do stupid stuff that they shouldn't do, like buy an $80k boat when you only make $50k per year and still trying to pay off a $40k house. I'm not recommending crack over bass fishing by any means but bass fishing can definitely make a fellow lose his better judgement just the same. 😂. I would be retired by age 45 if I hadn't started bass fishing. But I guess you've got to have something you enjoy doing. Everything my Daddy enjoyed doing seemed to make a little bit of a profit, not much but still a profit. Everything I've ever enjoyed seemed to cost more than I ever profited on it.

I read everything I could find on Fritts when I was trying to get better at cranking. I even bought one of his signature cranking rods 20+ years ago.
He made a video after he won the 93 classic. It wasn't the most entertaining video but eye opening about technique and technical info on crankbaits. KVD had to have watched that video because everything that KVD done with crankbaits was what Fritts had done years earlier. KVD capitalized on that and made more money than Fritts did but he (Fritts) figured it out first. Nothing against kvd but I would take a rapala DT (fritts designed) over a strikeking XD (kvd designed) any day of the week.
