It was cloudy, humid, falling pressure, and the birds didn't gobble well at all. Besides that the mosquitoes were absolutely relentless for some reason! Decided to just hit a goto spot to listen until one hopefully gobbled. Finally heard a hen so eased that way and sat down, called real soft a few times, and scratched in the leaves. 1 bird gobbled 1 time and 10 minutes later he was quivering in a heap at 30 yards.
Pretty dull morning actually, but this was the first bird with the new 20ga...so that was cool.
