There're starting to come in pretty good, and I've got plenty of nice big tomatoes, all heirlooms. BLTs are definitely on the menu!

This is one tomato on the plate. I got the seed from a Tndeer member a couple of years ago. He didn't know the variety name, but his family had been growing and saving seed from them for years. In honor of the seed gift, I dubbed them Burchett's Yellow. Thanks to him again if he sees this.

FANTASTIC! Im glad they are working out for you! Be sure to save some seeds! I couldnt tell you how many generations of my family have been using that heirloom seed stock. Ive put more work in my tomatoes this year than I ever have and Ive got the worst garden Ive ever had.
I started earlier and am running later than ever. I THINK Ive got a few of your seeds in the garden but they are so far behind right now I cant tell. Its my fault, I got over anxious and fertilized way too soon and burned about 60% of my plants out.

Love saving seeds! And your not alone, this year is the worst looking tomatoe plants we've ever had....plenty of tomatoes but the plants are dieing back and look horrible. Squash and zucchini has run its course, they are starting to look rough as well...may plant some more squash.

I sliced up one of these and a huge German pink to have with supper tonight. I made sure my daughter got 2 big slices of the yellow and told her how many generations these seeds have been passed down in the family. I hope she keeps it going.

Very nice results. That yellow one is awesome.

I got watermelon seeds a few years back from Wobbly. Grew well, very good taste. I can attest he has a very green thumb and a good heart.

My garden this year is having very mixed results. Based on planting in old dirt vs new dirt the new dirt is infected with something. I notice new dirt flowers do not get pollinated, or appear to not be.

is okay.....I am gonna drag my tiller out to the Fayette property and start beating up the ground I worked so hard to clear.

If you are using the miracle-gro soil amendment bags sold by Homedepot I think that product is full of some kind of fungus/virus/bacteria that causes the symptoms you describe. I have same problem Beans...tomatoes...peppers...squash....all are miserable in appearance and producing little or no fruits. Planted same in known good dirt and got my usual results...healthy green big producing plants. Just 2 months behind.

Thanks for heads up but we're not using any bagged soils in the garden...most of the soil in our raised beds is built from horse barn compost and garden compost...we do add little perlite and vermiculite....porch pots are bagged soil but its whatever is on sale blended with our compost.

I must not be doing something right, because my garden is sucking big time.. Seems the only thing I can grow this year is an over abundance of cayenne peppers and decent cucumbers.

My tomatoes just did not produce, vines are not really growing. I did fertilize and we had plenty (too much) rain.

My okra has only grown knee high, but is producing a few pods. First year I have had a problem with fire-ants eating my okra! You have to shake the plants and wear gloves picking the okra because every stalk is covered in fire-ants and they are eating the pods!!

My squash looks terrible, had an early onset of squash bugs.

My eggplants are small and seem to be drying out/leathery.

i give up, think i'll just hit the vegetable peddler at the 4way stop from now on.
