Picked up a couple boxes of Federal Fusion 62gr today. Anyone have any field experience with this ammo?
DA, are those handloads?no experience with them
killed 5 last year with the 70 accubond
watched a member on here shoot a deer in the neck 3 times with a 45 auto 230 gn hp and it was still trying to get up at point blank range
i would suspect they would do fine is placment is good
member on here step son killed a doe and big buck with the 70 accubond last year and his wife killed a big buck as well
another member used a 64 grain bsb nosler great sucess
nosler makes ammo with the 64 bsb
personally I love the 53 grain barnes
55 or 62 barns will work
If you ever needed an excuse for a new deer rifle now is it!Following as this is what my 11 year old will be hunting with his first time. Didn't really want to invest in a new rifle in case it's one season and done
Yes sir not sure if there is any factory ammo loaded with itDA, are those handloads?
No doubt get the barnes tsx for killing deer with 223!Any other suggestions on factory ammo? May be able to ride around on Sunday and check to see who has ammo. Other than that, may just shop online.
Shooting out of a 16" barrel with 1:9 twist
That's the only one I buy now for deer hunting. They have done well for me. Where did you find them? I would love to pick a few boxes up.Picked up a couple boxes of Federal Fusion 62gr today. Anyone have any field experience with this ammo?
Dunham's here in Cleveland had quite a bit. Of course, it was priced accordingly to the shortage. That's the only one I buy now for deer hunting. They have done well for me. Where did you find them? I would love to pick a few boxes up.

The bullets are scarce haven't seen any in over a year
I can stabilize a 70 accubond with 1:9 in my 5r I think a longer bullet in that weight it would notThat 1:9 twist might not cooperate with all of the heavy bullets. When you get into the high 60 to 70 grain bullets you might need a little faster twist.
It is funny how it works. I have a 1:8 that will not stabilize a 69gr Matchking, but will stabilize a 68gr Hornady match bullet.I can stabilize a 70 accubond with 1:9 in my 5r I think a longer bullet in that weight it would not
im no expert but the longer the bullet (considering same weight) it takes more twistIt is funny how it works. I have a 1:8 that will not stabilize a 69gr Matchking, but will stabilize a 68gr Hornady match bullet.
