Zeiss Conquest or Leupold VX-3

I'd like a 4.5-14x 40,44, or 50 for my Rem 700 in 7mmMag.

Which scope would you guys suggest?

Zeiss, I got rid of a Leupy for a Zeiss and my Zeiss is waaaay clearer especialky at first and last light. jmo

You can't go wrong with either scope. But I like the Zeiss Conquest better.

Zeiss, I never really liked Leupold scopes.

I love Leupolds. I own several of them.

Zeiss is a better scope in my humble opinion.
After I bought my first one, I have bought nothing else since.

I use the VX3 4.5-14x40 CDS on my .300 win mag 5R. I really like the scope as far as low light transmission and clarity go, but I haven't had ordered my dials yet. I hear it's a pretty accurate system though.

does Zeiss have custom BDC windage/elevation knobs for the Conquest?

I like the Zeiss Conquest hands down on a hunting rifle,,but I like the M1 adjustments on the Leupold better for a long range system shooting multiple target sat varying distances from 100 -1,000 +++ ,,not that they are really better just a personal preference.

Never owned a Leupold but got confirmation today my first Zeiss Conquest is on its way. I'm like a kid waiting on Christmas.

The Zeiss has more features and benefits the Leupold doesn't have.

has anybody used the target knobs on the Zeiss enough to say they will hold up to a BUNCH of twisting on a regular basis,,

the way the knobs on the 3-9 are made it is very hard for me to keep track of my dope,,,are the 4.5-14 and 6.5-20 different,,an are they backwards like the 3-9??

Both are great! For long distance 600 yards and out I would go with leupold

Thanks for the input guys. I have been leaning towards the VX-3 for a few months now but randomly came across the Zeiss Conquest recently. I guess my next step is to find a retailer that has both and look thru 'em with my own eyes.

I got a chance to play with a Zeiss Conquest and Leupy VX-3 side by side at Basspro yesterday. Zeiss is hands down the better of the two.

After further research, I'm interested in the Rapid-Z 800 reticle. Anybody have opinions/suggestions?

The reticle is way too busy for deer hunting in the woods at first and last light. IMO, that reticle is better if you are going to be hunting fields. The #4 is my favorite and then the #20.
