I have turkey hunted there but not much deer. How is the deer population around there and how's the best way to find them

More hunters than deer. If you found it your probably not alone.
Or scout hard, hunt harder and have success. Everbody has a different experience on public land

Went last weekend with my son for the first time this year. We saw a spike buck and couple of older does. Did not see anyone else where we were. Good luck.

Put some wear on your boots and find a couple spots, so you have backup if one spot already has a truck parked there. You will need a map. Boundaries aren't always marked well. Good luck

I shot an 8pt on opening day of bow season, not a big buck but a shooter in my book. There are some big deer out there but it is yanahli is scattered with private land mixed throughout it. So you not only have to compete with other hunters on the public land but also land owners. The spot I hunt is surrounded by very active atv riders and a lot of times they get closure than I would like.
