I have an 8 year old and (possibly) a 16 yro that I am considering putting in the quota hunt.

How are the areas for success and also for terrain, my 8 yro cant tromp around in rough terrain/mtns for miles like myself or my 16 yro can.

Can anyone share about previous successes?

We went to Yuchi once. Somehow we must have found the steepest giant hill to climb. No problem for my son, but my knees can't climb down those things like they once did.

Laurel Hill and Catoosa offer some mid October youth hunts before all the other quotas begin.

You can't go wrong with LBL and you will draw. It is just a long haul and not a lot of motels if you are not camping.

Here's a tip...KY youth hunt is free! No license required for the youth or adult guide. It is just too early for me to enjoy, but a great opportunity.

Want a great fun youth hunt? Do the Dale Hollow state park KY youth quota in Dec. You stay at lodge and eat in restaurant. We went twice when kids were younger. It was a fun and easy trip for kids.

Thank you so much for the info. I'm going to check out the Dale Hollow Quota hunts.
