I was this >.< close to being late for work. 5 deer came through the yard literally right before I headed out the door to go to work. I could have shot one from the back porch. Man I was tempted... The only reason I wasn't late for work is because I know they will be back.... They were in my front yard at 1130 pm last night when I got home.

Nah, don't shoot those house deer. You'll regret it if you do.

I doubt it Bo. Anybody that shoots fawns and poults isn't going to regret shooting anything.

yeah shot a fawn in the yard last season. Just ate that fawns ribs for dinner the night before opener. The whole family loved em, real tender.

Two days ago I had deer walk across the back yard behind my 3D targets. It happens all the time. One day I might break down and shoot one.

hope your just poking and not serious! :o

I am dead serious. I was walking out Saturday and walked up on a fawn. He actually walked toward me for a closer look. Shooting something that young and clueless to the danger around for a little meat is senseless to me. Maybe if I was starving, but nobody on this forum with internet access is starving. If I ever get that bloodthirsty I will give it up.

hmmm!!! well im dead serious its his tags, his gas, his time, his ammo, etc. I personally hope the young man gets very opportunity his heart desires to kill all the young animals he has tags for!!! keep on keeping on catman!!! hope that choke gets you many more birds this fall!!!

Thanks all, and knightrider that choke has been my good luck :D

Spur hunter I'll shoot what I like and you shoot what you like. You may have seen a fawn walk toward you out of curiosity, but I've also seen adult deer do the same and I've seen fawns scared to death of me. In fact I jumped a fawn yesterday that blew and ran from me like any other deer.

I'm all for shooting whatever deer you want but agree with BW about the yard deer. I put a plot in my back field Friday and planted it today just to watch them. To kill one of them would just be shooting and not hunting if I just opened the door and let it fly. No hunting in it to me but that's just my opinion and everybody has one.

Shoot what you want as long as legal, don't let folks bully you. There are a few always stirring up.

I was at full draw on a fawn this afternoon. It slid behind some thick stuff and didn't get a shot. Momma was in full view I just want to see what a young deer taste like. Always heard they are much better but never tried it.

back yard burger is the best

i have killed like 40 some odd off my 3 acres in 10 years

and the keep on comming over and over again

3 weeks ago katie call all tore up about some huge buck in the yard i told her dont call me take pictures

the deer in my yard just keep on coming and i keep on killing

Catman, blast one if you want to. I shot a buck from my sunroom several years back. It was a Saturday morning and I was cooking pancakes when I noticed a bunch of deer running all over the back yard. They were does at 1st then several bucks came in chasing them. I watched a little while then couldn't' stand it. I grabbed my 25-06 and eased out the back and cracked open a sliding door and watched. A decent 6 point(thought it was an 8 at the time but hand no brow tines) appeared in the shadows of the woods watching all the action. He was about 170 yards from the house. It didn't take but a few seconds looking at his antlers until my trigger finger got the itch. 1st shot broke his shoulder and he ran about 30 yards - a quick follow up and I was looking for my skinning knife. Go for it. :)

I didn't say I'd hunt them, I said I wanted to shoot one. Yeah I'd rather be in the woods hunting them, but when a shot presents itself in the backyard, it's tempting!

they are better eating for sure. I usually prefer not to shoot a fawn cause its so small, but when in the mood I will gladly shoot one. Easier to drag too.

Shot a fawn last year. Let the doe walk. Some of the best meat I ever ate. Mom and girlfriend loved it, too. Fawn is on my hit list.

Fawn, lamb, veal....no difference. They're all good.

What difference does it make what anyone shoots?.Give me the option of mother or fawn, and it will be the fawn everytime.Easier to work with all around, and is so much more tender.I don't see how some of ya'll can harp on someone for what they shoot.Get a life.Killem all Catman.

Fawns are good eating deer. Just not as much of them to eat. I have shot them before and will shoot them again. Let er' fly Catman and enjoy the venison.

Man rock on and kill whatever whenever you want . As long as your legal, and take ethical care of what you kill Kill It !!!!
Don't let people bother you slick .
I don't understand why people want to act like children and start arguments on a computer. It's all about having fun and interacting with people.
Kill'em there's plenty more where they came from.
